Concerning Premium Account Upgrade process:

An email from one of my Referrals,

"Finally got my FileMates premium account up and running. It took three days of back and forth e-mailing with them to finally get it up and running.

Even though this is finally settled I plan to send FileMates a note advising them of how long it takes and what a hassle it is with this system. Three days is way too long.


In this day and age of computers, this transaction should have been completed within an hour.

Thanx again for your concern"


 
I know my friend ansley.

The reason is that they do not understand the difference between direct payment and reseller.

RBK and iKoruna upgrade the account automatically.

Resellers instead (as described at the right of the payment bottom) SEND a premium key that the user applies to upgrade.

So there are those that send emails and emails and emails until they finally see how it is done.

But they are just few ones. Imagine MEGA.CO.NZ... It sells vouchers only though "resellers" and this is the only way to upgarde

About AVAST antivirus alerts:

Whoever meets such alerts with his antivirus, could you please send or tell your clients to send a printscreen of avast popup so that i send to avast team. They say they have no detection about filemates and they want to see an image to understand what this is about...

:) do not worry donandy2005... these are people pending more than 30 days...

this means they created an account but never used it. never logged in, never confirmed their email addresses ;)

Just a periodical cleanup to have the DB with active members only...
 
Guys this has been a very difficult decision BUT there is no other way.

Stability problems got solved and site is up all time. New servers got added and uplinks speeds got doubled in the new ones as well as their characteristics.

Payment processors are stable and process easily. Even if in foreign currency, they are stable and accept all countries.

Sales are not excellent like when we had Paypal but are relatively good in proportion to the traffic received.
There is an increase of 20% of sales for every thousand visitors.

After all this effort, many affiliates left, though. The traffic is low to cover well the expenses. This means that even if sales increased proportionally after we found processor, the traffic is still low to cover the expenses in a marginly profitable way.

There are 2 options:
If the traffic increases until 10 of March (next 2 weeks) FileMates will continue online for more years as long as you support it.

If the traffiic remains the same or decreases more, on 10 of March i will announce its closure that will take effect by 1st of April, so you will have 20 days to backup your files and change host.

Do not worry about your payments. In case of closure you will have 20 days to ask for payout and you will all get paid what earned. There is no doubt.

As you see this is not a scam. Never has been a scam, as rumored when everything began last December. No scammer announces possible closure.

I am really sad to conclude to this decision, as i created FileMates on a community based thinking, but this can not keep going this way. I am also sad as i had decided to start donating to charities 10% of the profits (1 different charity organization each month), since 1st of March, but under these circumstances this can not be done at the moment :(

OK. I am not pessimist. Things may change and traffic comes back. Then, everything will come back to normal.

With this, i just hope you do a great job and continue with FileMates. And i hope to have new affiliates soon. I hope in 2 weeks to be here and tell you that FileMates will not close ;)
 
First you need to think about to add Filemates in allowed filehost list in the big elite porn boards!

These are boards with high traffic and with a 100% increase in profits.

So that these 10% to charity you can pay them administrators of this BIG elite boards!?

I say this as someone who earns from servers 5 years.

@maniakasl i proposed collaboration to porn forums. they do not accept ;) of course only to porn forums with rules about specific content that i can not ethically accept... forums who do not have rules about underage, bestiality and more like this have not been contacted.

@uncle bob i am sure of that. you think i write such a message and i do not know the consequenses? ;)
2 weeks to let you all know. if you run away now or in 2 weeks is the same.
other file hosts will treat you the way you all know... what each one decides is if he wants to receive that treatment now or in 6 weeks (IF FILEMATES FINALLY DECIDES TO CLOSE)
 
Chrono, this is an option i should have revised long time ago. I wanted filemates to be with clear ads only without pop ups.

BUT maybe i should put PPD program and display popunder ads in the final download page for FREE and GUEST users (not premium).

This would give money for every 1K impressions and you could earn based on PPD then...
 
well, when the program will activate if the PPD'll try your service thanks for the reply.

ps I hope that if a plan headlights PPD Italy will not be forgotten like all the other hosting

You need to stop paying cloudflare and pay that money to someone who can protect your site and at the same time allow mass downloading with programs like IDM and JDOWNLOADER

People dont like to download links 1 by 1

I would hate to see you go cause you are the best host atm around the world

Also, the current paying methods aint that fair for the new users since they dont see the value on EUROS, and trust me, that is a big deal.

That brings a problem since people dont trust it.

The internet is a shit place as it is already filled with scams and even if your the best guy in the world, the guy that is trusting its VISA doesnt know that.

Keep up the good work and please dont close
