Also, "Enter Downloads Area >>" might confuse some people since it redirects to different page.
I think us webmasters should work together to make the best out of it. As long as Optimus approves.
Thanks for the input. The landing page has several key elements:
- Filename in bold at the top of the page, clickable. First thing user sees (in particular, the user who really, really, wants this file and can't find it or is too lazy to find it or is a newb).
- File information on left pane, # of downloads, mirrors, status, health, etc... this makes the download realistic to the user, as if it's at the tip of his fingers.
- An animated download button, give impression the user can click it to download the file instantly, because it's "available" with good "health"
- A "Get Access" button, telling the user he can get access to this and more files by joining.
- A "Enter Downloads Area" link which is leading the user to the "downloads area" but then requires the user to login. Since the user has no login, he is forced to click on "Signup" to get a login, and hence, is led to make a purchase.
All of the above contribute to getting every possible coersion/persuasion technique to the user's eyes.
The "Enter Downloads Area" link goes to a login page, because it tells the user that IF he had been logged in, he would have reached the downloads area (which is true) which forces him to sign up and make purchase.
This last ^^^ technique was borrowed from warez webmasters who used to promote CEC@sh and Wegc@sh back in the day to obtain $1.50 per email signup (before their accounts got shut down). Anyone who's tried this knows, the technique reeled in signups like no tomorrow -- it is, in my opinion (and I speak from experience) the #1 technique that pushes the user to buy!
Optimus I have a few suggestions, see if any of these are gud
1. Customise our own landing pages. I sent you a pm on this and the reason why..
2. A light version of sharingzone... one of my sites has a light template and I suspect the visitors get put off when they run into sharingzone's darkish theme. So my suggestion is two different skins of sharingzone (dark/light) and we cud just direct the traffic from the sites with light skins to the light version of sharingzone.
3. I already sent you an email about this a week back. We are allowed to refer other webmasters and receive 5% commisions on their sales. However, there is no info on the affliate panel on the webmasters we reffered or the commisions received from their sales. So please add this to the affliate panel.
4. I wanted to see which sites are making me the sales. So if there was a way to track which refferer made the sale would be really helpful, as I could focus on those more.
Let us know if you gonna implement any of these suggestions.
Thankyou CrucifynDi3!
1st suggestion is now implemented.
We now have porn-specific landing pages! Log into the members area and click on "Get affiliate banners and links" to see the new link codes.
2nd suggestion -- a
lighter themed landing page. Will implement this shortly.
3rd/4th suggestion -- yes, your email was received and put to work my friend.
Affiliate 2nd teir referrer tracking, and 2nd teir sales tracking -- this is being developed right now by our programmers and will become available in the members area shortly!
As much pressure "we" are putting on optimus I still want to hear his opinion. I mean, it does make my face sad to see so shitty conversion rate, but I don't really know if I should expect anything more than I already make. I just recently setup another site and aiming for targeted traffic..I wonder if that will convert. 300-400$/month would be enough to cover servers and get additional ones, for now it doesn't seem to be happening.
Patience is a virtue, or is it?
Indeed. After your testing period, I urge anyone to try other affilaite programs to see what converts better.
But if you don't get paid the same and you realize that Sharingzone made you more money, switch back and get back on this thread to testify about it.
I am confident that Sharingzone converts the best -- not because I'm biased, being the owner, but for the reasons given above (at the top of this post!!).
A lot of trial and error, tweaking, and sales psychology has gone into Sharingzone's sales pages -- so if you use it, you are getting the best of the best.
