they are probably desperate as they are not getting as much sales as expected and might probably be making a loss but that's a given for the current situation as not many people would buy premium atm especially when they know that filehosts are just closing one after the other. So you cannot blame uploaders when you don't have enough sales, also service is also a factor affecting sales ratio, you cannot expect people to buy premium when speed is slow,interface is shit and site is down regularly. maybe you should fix that first before panicking and changing plans out of the blue.
