change to vbulletin or somethign or other the problem with phpbb is your hashes are not salted or encrytped if u make ur password super long you should be fine and change your passwords for phpmyadmin

config.php.bak but never bac-config.php are you on a shared host or dedicated maybe your box is compromised give it a good look and check for php shells aka c99's in your forum

even when i had a shared host they gave me ssh to a certain point =P and sql is by bad code not scripts and whatnot it can prevent certain commands and what from being executed like null etc but youll never had 100 percent protection from it :P so that script is a fail

i get like 10 tb bandwith but i only use like 2 with all the sites on my server together so im guessign if the site is just starting any where around 5 - 10 gb should do fine
