In my opinion 500 mb limits "premium only" files alienate downloaders from file host and some forums ban these file hosts, its the right choice to make up to 1024 mb or unlimited..speed is the key i guess for premium sales (like 100-200 Kb/s)..when you have to upload bigger files to many parts are useless (like 500 mb)..
