Which is your favorite sitemap building tool.​

As everyone know that a sitemap is one of most important part of website. Sitemap is best method for submitting healthy links to search engines.

What I think one must go through a link analysis of website before building it. There are several tools which provide facility to build a sitemap. In my opinion we must build a sitemap manually, as we can clearly define meta data for each URL. Manual sitemaps takes too much of time particularly for large site with dynamic data, but this type of sitemaps really help in website optimization and search engine presence.


You can also create a sitemap with free tools . The drawbacks of sitemap built form software (tools etc) can include bad links to sitemap like 404 access denied, which can go against your website. One more thing, this type of sitemaps usually carries the website link of sitemap-generator host site. This is really bad.

Well I need a good suggestion. What is your preference, a manual sitemap or else.
Try to give some more alternatives.

I use Google XML Sitemaps for all my sites.Is a WP plugin http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/google-sitemap-generator/
Another great tool for non-wp/html sites are: http://www.xml-sitemaps.com/ and http://www.web-site-map.com/

If your website built in wordpress then, Yoast SEO plugin can create post, page and custom field specific sitemap. You can exclude any post, pages or any custom field specific post/page from sitemap.

Try xml sitemap generator of creating xml sitemap and also create an html sitemap. Wordpress sites use xml plugin for creating it that is useful for search engines only, however online visitors need an Html sitemap.

We don't need to worry about sitemap as we have installed Yoast SEO plugin for our wordpress blog and sites. Yoast SEO plugin does have a built in sitemap functionality and that's pretty good. Before we used Google XML Sitemap wordpress plugin but then we switched to Yoast and we are quite happy with it.
