-Videos: $0.009 per minute per month
Per minute of stored video?
If i have 100 videos and each one is 120mins, thats over 100 bucks a month?

Also let me remind you as well as all our members that this is not a Dictatorship, but a Democracy. We may make the final decision, but just like our video player we will adjust our decisions based off of your feedback. Our main goals are to paid down cost so we survive and to serve our users in the best way possible. In terms of making a profit we could care less, as long as we break even and satisfy our users that is all we need. We understand we could charge more and could cater to only wealthy members, but that is not our goal. Also we know we have users from around the world and that a dollar goes a long way in certain countries, that is why the more feedback we get from users the better we can help serve our members. So with that said we may be able to slightly lower price for "Non-Encoded" video's, we had a webmaster mention that some users care more about uploading and storing video's rather than encoding them. We could have a two price scheme for videos' both charged by the minute with videos that are not encoded charged at a lower rate. We have a rough idea what a good price may be but want to hear thoughts from users first.Premium Users: (new rates)

100 (videos) x 120 minutes = 12,000 minutes
12,000 minutes x $0.009 = $108
Yes you are correct. We are hoping the new rates will at least partially help with the new upgrades especially when we take into account storage, bandwidth, encoding, and personnel costs.We honestly think that we are closer to $0.02 per minute per month, but understand that this is a sudden change and don't want ton inconvenience members too much so we are hoping that users pay less than once cent per minute will be a better compromise. We of course will always be exploring new options and pass any savings down to our members.
and $0.009 per minute per month is too expensive. How about with movies website have more than 20k files?
Not currently, however after talking with the programming team they mentioned how you can use our remote upload option that has a google drive for now, and that when we complete a pending user request task that gives users multiple versions of our current video player you will be able to use your own video playerDo you support api to get direct link? (via id file google drive..)
I want to run on my own player.

Agreed. Traffic will be better.
As always we thank everyone for your feedback, we really do appreciate it. One option that was brought to our attention which was pretty obvious and that we didn't think of was having all users pay individually for what they use. Meaning split pricing into 3 categories-> Storage| Bandwidth | Encoding. This means users aren't paying for services provided to other members and we are able to accurately predict and cover our expenses. We would have to check to make sure we can track everything and that our pricing is right, and would also have to measure bandwidth in downloads since we use the cloud. But we can say it will probably be a much cheaper alternative.just planning to move my movies from openload. But alas the new rates is scare me :D
Encoding: $.007 per trans-coded minute (We are going to double check but this won't be a recurring price, but is a one time thing for each video)
It would be based off each minute. So for example if you have a 50 minute of video and want to encode it in two resolutions, you would be billed for 100 minutes. (We did our research and found most platforms do this). We also have to think about "All" members and we know from talking with some users the main reason they signed up was for the encoding resolutions, so we don't want to isolate them and have them carry a large burden for everyone else.
Encoding: $.007 per trans-coded minute
Backblaze:
Storage->$0.005 (0.003 cents lower)
Download-> $0.01 ( 1 cent higher)
I'd say we are right in the middle and actually closer to backblaze, plus we were before charging $9.99 per TB for storage and now are charging $8 per TB for storage, so it's actually cheaper than before, LOL! Also I think most people can agree that they would rather pay more for storage than bandwidth since it's more predictable and controlled. Any cheaper than this, means there would be no possible chance for further upgrades down the line as we would be constantly be running negative, which I think most users wouldn't want.
Storage: $0.008 per Gb per Month
Bandwidth: $0.02 per Gb per Download per month
Encoding: $.007 per trans-coded minute (We are going to double check but this won't be a recurring price, but is a one time thing for each video)
I would like to think we provide "A LOT" more than just encoding. I can't think of another platform that would add so many features to a video player for "FREE" (Insert your own Ads, multiple languages for subtitles, insert your own logo, multiple languages for audio (coming soon), remote upload, V-PAID and VAST system (coming soon), different video player designs(coming soon), ect...) This doesn't even count the image reader we just added and the future file hosting and music player options we have in the pipeline. If we were in it for the money we would charge extra for each add on, but we don't because we love this community and everyone in it. That is why when you ask for a new feature we give it to you for no extra cost. If you want a video player on the same level as ours in terms of features and customization you'll have to look at Sproutvideo, or Video Cloud by Brightcove, and asking them to add something they don't already have is a whole other matter.
We will probably be changing it to a folder system where you can upload directly into folders so instead of having your video's seen on the dashboard first it will be a folder, which you'll have to go into first before seeing video's, but first we need to get this new billing system out of the way so we can help pay for it.

Here are sample prices that are by no means set in stone. Let us know your thoughts.
Storage: $0.008 per Gb per Month
Bandwidth: $0.02 per Gb per Download per month
Encoding: $.007 per trans-coded minute (We are going to double check but this won't be a recurring price, but is a one time thing for each video)
Note: Also we would have to double check first, but we would also allow you to choose all resolutions instead of just 2.
Let me know your thoughts.
AgreedYes, this is better pricing in three categories. Some people only upload mp4 files, so they dont need encoding.
