Hosting Business Revamp

Hello all,

A couple of years ago, I bought a small hosting business (making around $500 - $600) /month in revenue but virtually no profits.

Using existing infrastructure already paid for, the revenue was turned to 100% profit and I was able to recoup the purchase price within 2 months.

My position at HHK has kept me busy (they are separate entities) and while the HK hosting biz is doing quite nicely, the small hosting business purchased years back is slowly withering.

I am considering a business partner to revamp, promote and make sales for the ailing hosting business.

There is good potential for the business with an already existing client base, 6 years of trading history, servers. At one point this particular business was making quite decent money but a few bad incidents and a lack of development on my part has lead to years of decline.

Investment required is minimal or none and resources, such as servers, licenses and even some server management is already available.

Please note, this project is not in any way associated with HHK and the interested party would not be involved with HHK.

PM me if you are interested or leave a reply if you have a question.

Hi Rox,

A full formed revamp plan has yet to be made. Part of the reason it has been left idling for the last few years is because of a distinct lack in direction and virtual abandonment with regards to website development and marketing.

At the moment, the idea is pretty simple:

1.) Re-design/redevelop website. I.e. make it look nicer and modernize.
2.) Engage in some online marketing/promotion.
3.) Increase product line by 'partnering' up with more providers. Currently locations of existing business are US and HK. Adding NL, Switzerland, or even Lithuania may be on the table.

That's basically the idea I have for it now.

Continued operations is not a problem. Existing resources are already in place and generating funds. Managing the servers and clients is also pretty much taken care of. The deficiencies are largely in the lack of marketing and continued website development.

Ideally, a partner would be located in a different time zone to increase support coverage, and able/willing to take on the development/marketing side of the business. I foresee this being a 50:50 partnership but of course this is dependent on level of contribution made by either party.
