We haven't tested our system with flashget, but we will do and see where is the problem, so we can do our best to fix it.

FTP must be working fine. I have tested with FileZilla, CuteFTP and WinSCP. Be sure to put the right hostname,port, username and password. And if you are a new user, you should wait around 10-15 minutes, so the system can prepare automatically your FTP access.
 
Do GaiaFile and FileCrown have any thing related?

Remote upload is not working and FileCrown's too
