@ Vjeetn: Can't have been months. We started the maintenance -1- month ago. So it can't have been 2 months ago that 2271dm had problems.

You think we like to have unreachable files? :) Really...?

What other boards? DP? That board is full of...

...

Well I have read there have been problems for months now, what exactly I don't know. I guess not one particular server.

Of course not :)
Nobody wants unreachable files or servers.

I'm talking about the JD board, there's a large thread there too and one of the mods told me FS has had probs for months.
I personally only experienced them since a couple weeks as I don't have premium that long yet.

Maybe I just tuned in at a bad time with buying premium...
See it from my perspective, I buy premium because FS looks real good and shortly after I start to get problems with unreachable servers (had this prob a couple times myself in a short timespan.)

Again, sorry if I sounded a bit harsh in my first post :)

@ Vjeetn: They are entitled to their opinion. We had 6 weeks of good streak, where nothing was going wrong except for a few complaining about their RU failed (complaints you will always get) until maintenance. File manager count has always been a pain in the ass...To be honest I've put my hand up to get rid of that, then people can point and guess and whine all they all like, but my vote gets turned down, so no reason to start debating about it, if it can get fixed...eventually.

You may have tuned in at a wrong time...Maintenance started 4 weeks ago. It is an important maintenance which will make everything go smoother and faster at the end of the day. Right now it isn't going smooth for some servers...There's light at the end of the tunnel.

Where most people fail to understand is that ANY of our competitors have had 8+ months advantages on us, yet, we are the service that gets "demonized" and "pissed on" even though we've made more headway for the whole industry and improved the quickest. Nice sign of gratitude.

@ techdaemon: Yes, but that's overshadowed with "file manager count isnt counting"-complaints, but thanks for noticing :)

Ok thx, I appreciate your explanation.
I do realise FS is a fairly new hoster and I can imagine it isn't an easy task competing to others that been around for ages.

On the other hand, I haven't lost all faith yet. I know FS is a good hoster. Just a pity about the current issues but I'm sure these will be fixed sooner or later.
I'll just have to wait till we get to the end of that tunnel :)

Appreciate it. I can only promise a better service than what we're offering right now. Without a doubt.

Unreachable files is more a nightmare for us than you. It means our servers aren't working optimally. Servers that have been paid for.

it never goes down here... all as expected, even few surprises...I guess I am lucky with FS

I must say that API, would be really helpful. More than fixed counter, or anything that you can imagine. This is the main reason why:

Lots of people are using z-o-o-m application for uploading.
Whenever that app can't get download link at the end of uploading, it restarts uploading, and what happens is duplicate files, lots of files that never gets deleted, and just takes place. I am sure that I have at least 1TB of files that just sits on the servers.
Now, relying on website, will it respond or not after link was uploaded, and idea how z-o-o-m is made, is bad.
Rapidshare have API, hotfile too. Why not Fileserve, is out of my knowledge.
API is a MUST, it will relieve stress on servers, since, to get download link back, server needs to transfer 1kb of data, and not the whole website page, which is 100s of kb.

I screamed few months back for API, and I will scream as long as I don't see it.
I can't complain on ANYTHING else, since I experience 0 problems with anything else.
Thank you RickyFS for 1.5K of pages of answers and patience.

@ cvrle77: Yes, the upload feature (we will release an API for you to fondle with as well) will be built into our FSM program (currently only for downloads), scheduled for May: No dates were given. This is a cooperation between programmers from the tech side and the programmers on the FSM side.

If you have tried our program you can see that it is an effective tool to use for downloading from FS...And its free of charge! We didn't just pull it off a pre-made script and fitted it with our site.

Glad to see your stats OK. At least one positive story among many others.

Thanks again for the support.

i have a 2year premium membership, valid till 2013 and now it's just a free member?? please explain to me what happened?? my userid ***** @Ricky please check ur inbox

@ cilembu: It shouldn't be that much. As previous page's screenshot showed it would be a drop at around 5-10% (max). Now I don't know how much you make a day but if you only make half a dollar a day, you would feel that it is very significant.

For me the drop are over 50%.I have 19k +/- shared single files on my acc.
150-200 dloads per day with 19k files,funny.
The equations look so:
More files = Less dloads

i decided to stop uploading file as far as solve all your problems No point in uploading files when users can not download ,is a loss of time ,usser they find a mirror the same file on another server

at the moment is the only thing i can do in this situation
I hope to fix their problems fast because I really like your service

I think i will join U in this decisions and use my FS to BUp my files without sharing.
will wait for better days with FS.

@ salebre: Files that are affected is less or about 5%. The drop has nothing to do with unreachable servers though. See my screenshot and also crvle's.

Fyi..if all testing is good over the weekend, any files on fsdndm will be active and downloadable. Prove me wrong after that :)

I dont blame U for that, its my decisions and my problem.I have acc's on other popular filehost whit less files (1k) and i get more dloads so im canceling FS files sharing.
will wait to fix dl counter and add other promissed improvments.

hello rickey when i had contacted your helpline they had sent the following mail

Once we have sent the payment and it was refused, we will just put it on hold. The payment will be re-sent again once it our system detects that everything is well on the receiving account.

can i believe that mail and put hopes on my money..............

@ salebre: The download counter has nothing to do with the lack of downloads you're getting. It is merely an indicator of how many people have tried to access your link.

@ riki1691: No, what they are trying to say is that if a payment is rejected (for whatever reason that may be, e.g. PP has a block on your account), we will retry it. However, if you have "rejected" / "refunded" us via PP/AP/WMZ we will not look into the matter. Hope that clarifies it.
