Just a few questions I hope somebody can answer it.
1. Is it possible for Filemates to download a link for me onto their virtual server for example. Say a file I want to download is at link
http://www.rapidabcxyz.com, can can filemates download that link onto my account for me?
2. Is it possible to say have a file that is already existing on my virtual account be broken up(split) into manageable chunks before I download it from FM?
The reason for asking these questions is that i will soon be going abroad and the country i am going is known for its hourly power outages. The internet speeds are pathetic as well. A 8Mb connection costs £47 a month (so I am going for the cheaper 4mB with 300GB FUP) which comes to around £13) when converted from the local currency. For £47 you can get BT Infinity 2 (75Mb unlimited) in the UK (& no power outages). The thing is if I am downloading a large 1.36Gb file from FM if the electricity goes (which it will after every hour) I lose what I downloaded as my back main IP address changes (no static address in that lame overpriced connection) and have to start again. If there was a way I could get filemates to download the large files for me then split them into 200mB chunks I would pay for that service (reasonable price)
Currently everyone ends up being dependent on torrents for everything as at least you do not lose what you have already downloaded
(There is a business opportunity there if you read between the lines)
