My friend vjeetn, FileMates as many other hosts (correctly) permit users to allow their files to whoever they like. They are THEIR files. They have right to permit WHOEVER they like to download it. To put a password, to restrict to premiums only, to make then public or whatever...

I really can do nothing about it. Every uploader has his files available to whoever he desires.
 
Ok, that makes sense.
I apologise for being so aggressive but thought free downloads were not available at all which is why the free download button didn't make any sense to me... lol.
I found out users can restrict it by digging through some pages in this topic and now by the answers given.
Thanks for giving the answer I needed ;)
It's actually the first time I see this kind of approach. I'm familiar with password restricted files but often you can still download them.
I'll ask if the uploader is willing to remove the restriction. Thanks.

A couple of thoughts.........

As I've suggested before, Papa Mates, you should consider adding a script/option that allows affiliates to set/adjust the Premium File Size download limit for their particular files. Something titled: "File Size Limit for Free Users". The allowable range could be, for example, from 300mb to 1024mb. Thus the affiliate selects whatever size he/she feels appropriate for their files.

Also.........for the past several months I've used DownLoadNoLimit. It's great! I've had no problems, it's easy, and the keys are generated quickly and correctly. I highly reccomend it, over any other of the FileMates payment options.

About downloadnolimit i agree and it has been converted to principal method as you can see today...

about the size you say why don't you do what i proposed you before? just order your files by size and make premium only the files with size you desire to be premium only... it is the same thing...

since hours.... useless to point this issue, he will reply this evening after going out of bed that there only was a problem because of traffic overuse and that there wasn't a problem....

Houston, we have a problem....

Uploaded the last days a bunch of files. Only me knows the links, they are absolutely not public

And they have downloads !!!

So how can this be ? Maybe I better change to PPD now ;-)
