I am interested in buying a dedicated server(Win XP), now, since I've never used dedi, I need to know:

Can I FTP upload to server from my server, and can I FTP upload from server to another site?
How much technical knowledge I need to be able to use it?
Can I connect via Remote desktop?

Basically, I need dedi for backup, so I can FTP upload to another site, to download with Filezilla, manage files as in Win XP and so on...

The overall speed on the Server is very good (NL).

Suddenly the speed on my client's german Telekom connections (only them) was breaking down. They only got 100KB/s.
so i opened a new support-ticket.
They responded very fast (approx. a few hours).
and do nearly everything what they can do.
The managed to do a rerouting of the server - the speed is now up to 600KB/s (and better)
so i assume it's now a problem of telekom germany's shit routing.

Over the last 1,5 weeks (where i got the speed problem) the support updated my tickets and asked for informations to sort this out and provided me with informations from the DC. (and it doesn't even cost a penny more than normal).

Okay, they aren't exactly cheap. But you will pay for what you get :)
it's totally worth it.

They are a very good company and very professional.

i can only recommend them if you want to buy a dedcated server and want good and friendly support.

1- The OS will be Windows server 2008 ( its like windows 7 ), We dont offer windows XP .
2- You will connect to the server using remote desktop
3- Yes you can upload from your server to any server, While uploading from your home PC to the server the maximum connection will be your Home connection .

Two months ago I bought a Dual Xeon 5620 server and I was happy with that. Now I have 6 servers with them and now I am very happy with their service. Cheers!!! God bless EQservers !!!!! So happy with them. Will order more servers in near days... :handshake:
 
Just to jump in here, Eqservers resolved all / any speed issues i had previously had and went above and beyond to help me on a very isolated issue.

Great service, have just bought a server directly with leaseweb but wish i used eqservers as i prefer their way of managing servers, plus i leaseweb have stupid billing pro rata policy, so i had to pay 2 months when i wanted only 1 month .. anyway, on topic, eqservers are great

The correct way to test the server is by downloading/uploading to well know data centers in multiple location which we did as the proof said .

I totally agree with you about speedtest.net . Some of their server has a 100Mbps connection, or even unstable server... Do not place undue 100% (or maybe know how to test server speed)

The one and only way to test a maximum speed between two server : Use the tool Iperf (linux or windows) . Allows you to test network speed (TCP, UDP). Indeed, the tools use 100% of the network capacity because it is not limited by I/O HDD.


I possess several server (nl location) in your company, and i am very satisfied with your service/price/professionalism. :)

If you have customers who want to test the speed of their server, do not hesitate to ask me. I can run iperf on my server to allow it to test the speed of their server.

Hi All,

Just wanted to let you all know that there was a goof up in the recent turn of events causing EqServers to be banned my mistake. We are sorry for it and won't take such hasty decisions in future, this event serves as a lesson for us staff. All issues are resolved now and there is no reason to doubt EqServers over the recent ban.

Also, this should be a lesson for everybody who purchases hosting from anybody - first read the ToS of a company and then buy a service. Do not buy hosting just because it looks attractive and has good reviews.
