I uploaded 6 gigs earlier today but now it is down for me. Might be doing maintenance of some kind.

Buy another premium account or wait until next month.
Most hosts have a daily download limit of some sort. With Datafile, you have a monthly download limit. When you click on your profile, it will show you how much download traffic you have left for that month.
Don't feel bad, the same thing happened to me. You just need to better budget what you download.

I used limit downloads per day. In spite of a flat rate, I heard for the first time limit downloads per month.
yes, same error when login using Chrome. I used to browse with Firefox but when open Datafile site, it just showed blank page for now.
anyway I can connect to ftp and able to upload but not sure whether these files will be in file manager when the site come back later.
i dont understand that anyone still use DF, they still have the issue where every 25th file or so will randomly not be downloadable yet show up in their file manager, and if you copy the file in the manager and repost that link it will work, they have a terrible coding team unable to resolve their issues.
The irony is... their slogan is "reliable file hosting"
Ya really reliable having every 25th file randomly just not be downloadable for an unknown reason, don't say its just me, ive seen literally anyone posting a datafile folder with 100 files in it, atleast 2-3 files will be broken and it's not because of DMCA.
