Wordpress Maintenance File

Auto-Upgrade failed so I deleted the .maintenance file. Site works now, but get a blank page when I try to access the Dashboard.

As a rule of thumb, I never use auto upgrade. It's not like it takes more than a few minutes to overwrite the core files in an ftp/sftp program anyway.

I'd suggest you do the upgrade manually, as above, or revert to a backup and try again using auto.

always take backup before updating or making changes to your site I dont get why site owners dont do this, its like i dont care if my site fucks up ill start over or use alot time to fix this.

okone, I just installed 3.1 manually which fixed my problem.

faku, I did have a back-up of my site, just didn't want to restore if I didn't have to.
