Hi all,

Since a while ago I was working on a new website and I already brought the main page up. Check it out Whoo.ws

I'm looking for some constructive criticism, like what is good, what is bad, and what needs to be improved in your opinion. If you are reading this, don't just click on the site and leave this topic but instead post your opinion about it. If you have a website and are asking for a review you also appreciate it if people review it.

I need to know the pro's , contra's =)

it looks very nice. A few problems:

Some things are a bit too cramped together( like the Next bar at the bottom, that should be in the center of the gray bit?)

Also id advise moving the left column over a bit so you can put the curved bit on the other side, Symmetry always looks good.

Thers also the drop shadows that dont fade completely, kinda looks a bit unprofessional.

Lastly id darken the bacgkround a bit, its a bit too bright and draws attention to it.

Anyway good luck with the site, its looking great atm :)
 
could use capital letters in your cat titles (Partners, Search. ETC) to be more professional and the page jump thing is there twice dont know if its meant to be though :-?
 
Looks good Whoo, like Marstons said, the page nav links at the bottom are showing up twice. And is this supposed to show like this? the image doesnt flow

Love it, there is just A LOT of text to read at first sight... you almost need to do something to bring the attention to a specific item that way the users have something to peak their interest.
 
Hi all I am back.

First of all I would like to thank you for all the great reviews I have gotten from you all! (a bad review is great too, as long as it's a review ;))

Just wanted to bring a small update:

-I have fixed the footer of the site and the page navigation is now showing properly. It was showing twice for a few hours because I started working on it and had to rush to work so I didn't have time to do it properly yet.

-The left sidebar headings are also completely uppercase now (since it was lowercase)



Feel free to give more suggestions ;)

First of all vgnheart I don't see any constructive criticism about Whoo.ws so you shouldn't be posting here. Also if you take a look you can already see big differences between the 2 sites. Try going to the 2nd page on movieloft.org, oh right YOU CAN'T!

Also my previous website MovieRush was a movie-only website, if you had taken some time to check out whoo.ws you would have seen that on the about page there is listed the following:

That's why I got this new site, for different categories and more, I will not only be posting downloads on there but also packs, server administration tutorials, ...

Next time when you visit this topic please try to remember that you are in the "Site Reviews" section and not in a MSN chat window with me where a post like you wrote down would be more suited.
