What is the consensus on using link protection in 2023

I'm not talking about other sites, each forum has their own rules so this would be just on my own site. If I do use something it would be local to my box i've had too many companies do dark over the years so I would just use a script or make one and host it locally.

1. Is it worth the time and effort to implement?
2. Does it reduce user click through and thus effect revenue?
