You have to work 9 to 5 no matter what software company you join. Google or Facebook is no different is that regards. If you are a social person, you can party during weekends and after work hours. It's hard work but there is opportunity to do other stuff as well. It's not a 24x7 job like you think.

Do keep in mind these pay scales are pre-tax. Taxes fuck the life out of you. So the 100k probably rounds about to 80k or less.

Exactly. This is an average, meaning it counts both customer support guys who earn just above minimum wage, as well as "the top" guys. 100mil$ retention grant omg.
