What do you concider relaible hosting???

It's got me thinking alot lately, due to so much downtime the current hosts i've tried.

So what do you concider a good relaible up/downtime % ( shared hosting )

In % i mean how long do you expect it be backup after some downtime.

My host has been down a total of 3 times in the year that I have been with them. When we went down 2 times was only for an hour. The one time was for a day. Overall pretty relaible.

Well, my current host (VPS) is pretty reliable.
Longest downtime I had thought was about 10 hours, but it was just because of a HDD error.
Other then that, its reliable. I'd say about 98% Uptime. Which is good enough for me.

lol yea they all say 99% uptime and like 8/10 hosts oversell.

99.9% Uptime - HostBeyond. Not much downtime they are very reliable.

You guys hate your sites so much? 99% uptime means that your site has average downtime of 14.4 minutes daily

Reliable company should be able to guarantee 99.9%

Will help me finally decide to shove some £££ towards ( again, and hope it doesnt die lol ) a hosting company soon.
