Warez-BB.org Woes: Website Down Again & Accounts Randomly Banned

Warez-BB.org is down once again & suffering from several additional woes since a recent server upgrade that was supposed to solve everything. The website has had serious issues with connectivity and bugs in the past, but in recent months the issues have gone above and beyond what many have been accustomed to. Out of the past 6 weeks Warez-BB.org has been down for more than 3 of them. Let’s not forget to mention all of the other issues that have taken place as well. Issues such as emails not being sent, private messaging systems being unavailable, search functions failing, DDoS attacks, 500 server timeouts and list goes on.

One of the more serious issues that hasn’t been addressed by Warez-BB admins is a serious one. Since the upgrade of the server hundreds (if not thousands) of members have lost access to their accounts. Members are attempting to login to the site, only to be faced with “Account Banned or Compromised” notices. In the past week alone we’ve received dozens of emails about members stating that they cannot log in.

One member emailed us asking the following:

Ever since the site came back up I've been unable to log in, keeps telling me that my account is inactive or it has been compromised. I can't change the password. I have sent repeated request to them to have my password reset without success. How do I get in contact with the admins of the sites?

For many of the websites faithful the constant issues have simply become overwhelming. There’s no doubt that people love the site & they are devoted to the community, but many have began to search for new sites and alternatives. So the question needs to be asked, what exactly is going on with Warez-BB.org and will things ever change? For many, the server upgrade was a positive sign, many of the errors of the past were attributed to the poor performing server, or so we were led to believe. Like everyone else, we had high hopes that once the server upgrade was complete that many of the issues would become a thing of the past. And after a few initial kinks had been worked out, all appeared to be going well. That was until the site received a massive DDoS that sent it offline, then shortly thereafter we started receiving complaints about user accounts being banned and then ultimately with the website going down again today.

ScrollDog attempted to reach out to Warez-BB.org but received no comment.

According to the Warez-BB.org Blog, the issue is being worked on and has been reported to the server administrators:

Popular sites like Katz.ws/.cd, USAWarez.com/.net and WrzHost.com once used the same service provider as Warez-BB and issues like this would only happen when the technical issues were not resolved by one of the sites network admins. If the technical troubleshooting was left up to HostFresh/Info...Move, the process was always delayed and would result in issues that would never seem to be resolved. These issues are clearly being dealt with by someone who is entirely incompetent. Regardless of how massive or how large a database becomes, this amount of downtime and the number of errors is inexcusable. Perhaps it is time for Warez-BB.org to put someone else in charge of managing the website.

Another WBB Woe: Bugs@warez-bb.org, Staff@warez-bb.org & Admin@warez-bb.org are all bouncing.

We spoke with a highly influential and tech savvy individual in the scene regarding Warez-BB.org’s issues who stated that “Part of the problem starts with the system setup that Warez-BB.org has. The script that they are using, IcyPhoenix (http://www.icyphoenix.com/) is very old and outdated. It’s highly likely that the script has never been tested under high traffic. The SQL error matches the table structure for that. Mainly phpb2, but I only read up on it for a few minutes. I think they should bite the bullet, prune trash section (they dont allow search engines so trash section is usless) & convert to phpbb3″.

Well it seem WBB is offline again, that's twice in about about 2 weeks with the same session error, how long before it gets sorted out again is any ones guess. This continuing saga is having a real adverse affect on it's members with quite a number de-camping to other venues for their needs.

It must be the damn US lawyers screwing with them. They have hackers working for them. No other reason for the down time

Some say the "owner" of warez-bb is not available all the time.

So some things move really really slow to resolve the issues. I don't know what the new issue today and past 2 days, but they are losing traffic, they are losing member's. Lose members, uploaders leave. When this happens, the forum is heading in the wrong direction.

The communication of the down times are HORRIBLE. Everyone does not have a clue what is going on. Then the rumors begin. DDOS, USA lawyers, etc

It is really getting ridiculous this downtime. I don't believe it's anything but lack of attention and the experienced leaving, what about 2 years ago? Cool You and hell, I can't remember their names. The movie posters that pin to the site are, or will be long gone if things don't improve. Most are referring to their own Webpages now as they know they must.

I know how it feels to run a big phpbb forum. Pain in the ass. I'm not saying that my forum was the same size (I had about 500K users if I'm not wrong + 2Mil articles) but phpbb is just shit. My forum had always problems, high load, too many queries, sql not working this or that. And no, I never had a cheap-ass vps, it was always on a good dedi.

I have to admit I have respect for wbb admins and dev team. They do a really great job! <3

Have to agree with all but the updating of the blog when they are off-line. That is bothersome. Withe the old admins and super-mods one could always see what was going on.

I wonder just how many of those members are actually active..Couple thou maybe?
They have a huge amount that have not been active virtually since WBBs inception, yeah sure it looks good on the stats but really they'd be better off pruning them
plus they have more scripts & mods running on the forum than corn in a cornfield & a lot of it is unnecessary.

I have some respect for the owners/admins they do what they can to keep the site up, unfortunately though sometimes they have to add more scripts/mods to achieve it.

There are a lot of good sites out there, it's also my belief that some are even better than wbb, maybe not as big but still better. Lets face it most if not all the warez forums have all the same uploaders/posters & content as each other.
