The Selling of Rapids on WJunction

I don't buy or sell rapids so it doesn't affect me directly but for those that don't know I want to bring it to their attention and question if the sale of them should still be allowed.

If you Phish (hack into) someone's Rapidshare Account and the account is unlocked and contains Rapids you can transfer them to your own account. After two hours their in your account to do as you please.

Now at this stage you can create screenshots of your own account locked and unlocked with the Rapids in your possession to show you own them. This is the only request WJ has.

Then you can sell the Phished and stolen Rapids on WJ. If your clever you'll probably only take some of the Rapids from the Phished account not them all to prevent the owner of the account from noticing. You could even return and steel more at a later date.

Basically WJunction is providing a means, even if it doesn't intend to, of selling Phished or stolen Rapids.

This needs to be addressed as WJ is does and never has promoted hacking or fake account. Should WJ ban the sale of Rapids or do you think their is a way to increase protection for the purchaser of Rapids? Any thoughts?

You could ask people to show incoming logs of the account your getting the transfer from.

maybe we could provide screenshots of email when our rapids got converted from points when rs changed the system.

You can find out if its legit or not.... usually all legit accounts have downloads from a single IP. Also if you see incoming transfers you can tell if an account has received rapids or not.

Usually in this case Rapids received from a user will leave an entry on the logs. Whereas if you purchase from rapidshare or old points were converter there will not be an entry in the logs.

Leave it be. If it gets out of hand it should be banned from sales. No matter how forums are run there are always risks for the buyer/seller. WJunction shouldn't have to baby every little thing, afterall this is a webmaster site.

Rapids cant be generated now a days so it may not be a big problem

People can send rapids from the fraud account now a days in the same way as they can create new account from the fraud account in the old days.

We were asking only for the locked and unlocked screens to prove that one has enough points to generate new account from unlocked account
Locked an unlocked screens are still a proof as rapid can only be send from unlocked account,

In the old days people could hack other's account and show that account itself as proof and +72 hours delay for receiving rapids is actually an advantage for buyer in case it is fraud
