Tag Option?

Not quite sure if this is even possible but...

Say I created a thread and wanted certain people to know about it, is there a way we could have a system implemented so that we could tag that person or people and they would receive a mail notifying them or something??

I could tag someone by doing:

@namehere and they would receive a notification.

I think it might be pretty useful in some cases, what's your opinions?

It would certainly be useful.
Or if that's not possible then we can have something like you get notified when somebody quotes you. The same thing is there at xda-developer's forum.

Oh it is?? I just thought of it there when browsing and thinking what would improve WJ. Thought of twitter and fb and stuff then was thinking a tag system.
If there already is one then I guess it would be easier to implement into the forums.
