Starting a Porn Tube

Hi all,
I am hoping to get some friendly advice so obviously this is the place for me to post it.

I am looking to make a porn tube. I have had a look at what people are suggesting as good scripts and have come up with the following that seem to be regarded as the best...

Kernal Video Script
Adult Video Script
Tube Ace
MechBunny


I dont really know much about any of them as I am only just starting with looking into this. I would apprecaite any opinions or advice on which one to use or if someone can tell me another one that is better then great.
I am not restricted by money, I am looking to buy the best so dont worry about cost.

The next advice is server.
What kind of specs should I be looking for.
I assume The server will need to be of fairly decent spec as it will need to be doing video format conversions as video is uploaded.
Also I guess a 1Gbit port is pretty much essential for a streaming site right?
What kind of volume of data do these sites hold? (hdd space)

When I run out of space on that server what do I do? do I have to buy another server or do hosts offer remote storage linked that can be served to your server or something like that I dont know?
If I have to buy another server when space is short can it be a low spec one just purely for storage?

Do you have any recommendations of high spec low price servers in sensible non-us countries?

I do currently have a vps with KoDDos, a Gbit server from santrex and a 100mbit with leaseweb, so im not a complete n00b I just need some advice on this kind of site and interested in other hosting companies I might not have considered.

How do other tube sites deal with copyright issues?
Do they just ignore it? Do they delete uploaded copyright videos upon receiving a dmca request?

The last thing is monetisation.
As I said at the top, I am not restricted by money too much, I am happy to buy an expensive script. The one off costs I am happy to pay, the ongoing costs are the ones I will need to offset. So Basically what are the good methods people use to monetise such a site to offset server costs, and will it cover those costs?

I am happy to loose money every month as long as it isn't much, this is not a profit orientated project, but profit is always nice :)

PredatorCMS is the CMS which powers most of the bigger tube sites, it's a bit expensive but it's very functional.

As for servers, if you're going to host the videos yourself, you can't just get one server, you will need a few. You can use one for the webserver+DB, one as an encoding server and the others as fileservers. It all depends on how YOU want your setup to be. Another thing, a dedicated 1Gbps connection is minimum requirements, a preferred 2-10Gbps connection will be necessary if you expect your site to grow exponentially.

I mentioned a dedicated connection because depending on what type of files you convert to (flv/mp4), the filesizes will affect how much bandwidth you utilize. Multiple concurrent streams will utilize a lot of bandwidth and some providers frown at the idea of having a streaming site on their network, so clarify it with your host before you start

DMCA, it's up to you how you will deal with it.

Monetisation is easy as there are a multitude of companies that specialize in adult tube sites. Just google around.

With regards to the monetisation, will I be able to cover server costs do you think?
I know it depends on how many users and how many conversions etc etc... but I am looking for an answer like, 'it will be easy to cover your server costs' or 'you really will struggle to cover costs'.

As with any business, you will NOT make enough money to cover your expenses within the first 6-8 months.
That being said, prepare to have a lot of start-up capital as getting dedicated connections for your servers isn't cheap.

Unless you have a method to get targeted users in such a short space of time like some very good advertising/marketing techniques, 6-8 months should be the wait period. If you can manage to get enough users to generate enough revenue with ads, then you can start breaking even after just 2 months.

Another thing, plastering the site with ads just as you open it, will drive all potential users away.
 
0taku is right on spot.

Having servers, domain and even proper script isn't enough. You need to have/find a way to attract ton of users and not flood the website with ads. Advertising/Marketing part is crucial here, there are already ton of Porn tube websites.

Once you get on the radar and have decent amount of stable visitors you can start putting ad banners, popups and such.

Worst thing you can do is start fresh, without any visitors and spam the shit out of the website with ads, rookie mistake.

Thanks to everyone for your advice and replies, all valuable advice.
I am prepared to stump up some start up capital and I know that the returns will take a number of months before visitor numbers rack up.
I also like to use porn tubes myslef and have been taking notice of the ones that annoy the shit out of me with ads which I dont return to and those that have subtle ads that I use alot.
So hitting the user full in the face with 500 popups is obviously a bad idea I do agree, so thanks for that good advice as well.

The side of things I am lacking on though is the technical knowledge. I have a couple of servers as I already mentioned, but I am mainly a cpanel kind of guy :s.

Can someone give me some more specific advice on the servers. I mean can I start small with a 1Gbit dedi server like one of these.... https://www.koddos.com/offshore-dedicated-servers.html and work my way up to the bigger servers? Or do I need to go straight in at the deepend with 3-4 major league servers?
The other thing I was wondering is storage. Is a content delivery network a viable option?

Also is predatorCMS the best? any other opinions on this?

I read that pornhub gets 8 million users a day. Predator CMS says it can handle 1.4 million out of the box. Does this mean that sites like pornhub use something else?

Well starting a tube in this scenario in not really advisable unless you know how to market it effectively and u a pro in adult with enough knowledge on adult sub niches, well a micro niche tube is quite ok. Mainstream tubes requires much investment (even if you have much to invest, you will be disappointed when you don't see much revenue from it to cover up your cost) You have to invest 1000s of $ on link building yearly (i sell two links on my pr3 and pr1 pages for 100$/year linking to one among the top) so literally its a million dollar investment to make up something pro and few k if you dont want it to be pro looking, but risky business. My friend is having one small with 15k - 20k traffic per day and his expenses are pretty high..

Your script should be custom based and have multi server support.So in case you run out of space on main server , you just order another server from any company and plug the ftp data into the script and future uploads get stored in new server.It should also have billing plugin , easy image moderation and management of users.Script should work with Nginx.

Specs
2x1TB Hard disk
1Gbps Port{Shared but you should get at least 300mbps at all times}
16-32 GB ram{the more the better}
Nginx Webserver + php-fpm + APC would be needed for a stream website{time to ditch cpanel & apache and be a little independent}.Apache uses too much resource compared to nginx
