Hi

I have been doing my Diploma in Electronics and seriously i hate it , never do that X-(

So this is my final semister and now i am going to enter degree after a month break ( if i get super awesome marks which i won't). :'(

Now, let's come to the point :-

I am thinking to take a gap of 1 year after my semister is over and in this 1 year, i will try to learn languages like C,C++, Pearl, Unix etc.

& i will attend cources of Ethical Hacking and try to do stuff like that.

I just want to do these things for whole 1 year and if i became good at it, it can decide my future.

So was asking for your opinions.

you need to be bad hacker first to be good hacker
that's how you get found by most of these talent scouts :P
i.e. CIA/ Mi6 / ect...

Start with cisco certificates. CCNA is the first one. introduction to networking and TCP/IP mostly .It will help you understand many concepts, then go to CCNP. Then you will have ethical hacking covered ;)
i have covered both of them.

i have seen many people going for CCNA certificates after doing their masters in Computers.

I am just diploma.!

Really scaring me off.!!!!! :'(

CCNA is quite basic i'm going to go for it in a few months time,
Get these basic IT qualifications first:
MCDST
ADITP
A+
N+

Will help you a bit especially the N+

ive thought of doing ethical hacking just for fun.

its not really something to do with a degree.

but know what you wanna do. hell ive just been taking random computer classes. could major and almost anything. just i want to do something i like not something that will just pay lots.

i am not in a mood that i am going to go into field of Ethical Hacking only because it pays alot.

Its like i have more interest in this rather than other fields.

OMG ! You are on the same tracks with me. Even I'm in final year diploma from Industrial Electronics and I hate it too. I wanted to take Computer/IT :( but I didn't get admission due to less percentage in 10th.

Anyways, since we would be getting a 4 month vacation after the 6th SEM gets over, I'm going to join MAAC India :)

As I'm an amateur & self thought web designer with no certificates, I'd like to join the academy and qualify myself to attain the certificate which will definitely boast off my skills and develop them so that I can use them more efficiently.

If you are really interested then go for learning coding and then ethical hacking.

@blaze :-

do you really have interest in multimedia and designing?

i've heard that that field has real good money, but its outta my interest.

PS :- Even i did not get admission in I.T because of my low marks in SSC :P

Depends how you define "hacker" if you're meaning network security things, then I don't think you're going to achieve a whole lot by learning masses of languages. By the way, it's Perl not Pearl :)

If you are serious about it I recommend you check out the EC Council website. I tool the CEH Course. Theres nothing that hard but you need interest or you'll get bored.

Heres the link of what I did:
