role of domain name registrar in DNS resolution

I have got one question related to dns resolution. Does the domains are looking into domains registrar while resolving.

I am not completely sure, but it is possible that they could get queried for your sites nameservers.

the dns resolution is done via registry. Only work of registrar is to set nameservers & save it in registry. If you are managing DNS at the end of domain registar then registrar sets the nameservers to thr nameservers.

Well I read this somewhere like 2~3 yrs ago.
