Xenforo is the commonly used forum software, those guys are ex VB staff. They did not like the way VB was taking the project, consuming a lot of cash but not showing much improvements in their software for so many years so they decided to go their own way with XF

Xenforo is the future.

Nope XenForo isn't. XenForo is one of the most modern forum software, but not the most used one. But XenForo also has many disadvantages.

I personaly think forums aren't the future at all - they're all dying slowly. The combination of blogs + social media is the future.
