Can someone please help me to setup reverse dns in kloxo panel..
I asked vps company to do it for and they replied this : You have to setup rDNS with your TLD name for a mailserver.

How can i do this in kloxo i searched before i post but cant find anything relevant to TLD name for mailserver..

Please help...

Also when i send a mail from my server to gmail/hotmail/yahoo it goes directly to spam folder , how to fix that ?

Thanks in advance for help...

Lxadmin says:
Lxadmin now has reverse DNS. Currently only bind is supported, so it will work only if your DNS driver is bind.

You can configure the rDNS params by going to admin home -> reverse DNS -> dns config

Reverse DNS is now only available if you are on a dedicated. On vpses, you should create Reverse DNS via hyperVM.

First of all thanks a lot for the replys ....

@Lockdown i have read that from lxadmin before i make this post but i dont undestand the reply from my vps provider this one "rDNS with your TLD name for a mailserver" how am i going to do that ? Actually i am stuck here dont know what 2do and i really need this rDNS thing this might be the reason my mail to yahoo gmail etc goes directly to spam...

From everything I have read on it the tld (top level domain) for rdns (reverse dns) has to be done by your host.

Email him again and let him know that.

Hi,

We told you to tell us what you want your rDNS to be so we can set it up and gave you an example that it could be - mailserver.domain.tld - That does not mean you have to set it up yourself, you have to tell us what you want it to be. You can reply that in the ticket :)

Thanks!

What he doesn't understand is what you mean by domain.tld? :)
They want you to tell them the real site something like this:

mailserver.domain.tld

server.yoursite.com

They should already know it if they set up the vps unless it is addon or subdomain.

problem solved i beleive... Sorry for the trouble noob here.. if my domain is "example.com"

then the mailserver must be "mail.example.com"
This is what i use in outlook to get my mails so i think this must be the correct one for the tld ? Right Lock Down ?

Its a unmanaged vps and i setup my domains on it and dns servers etc...

PS : Thanks for helping me sort this out...

I also want to setup reverse dns with kloxo. But I still cannot set this thing up. Did you install HyperVM for it? Please tell me in detail.

My VPS is setup with my

ip xx.x.x.x
reversename: email.movietainer.com..

But in kloxo I get an error. dns_params_not_configured

You can tell your host to setup your rDNS - email.movietainer.com and they'll be the ones who'll set it up for you.

Hello i also need again help with setting up this...

I told my host to update the name but after 100+hours if i do a test with intro dns i get an error on reverse entries...

I can't find any tutorial on setting this on kloxo for a vps...
Can anyone help-explain how this reverse thing works ?

1.) Does it have to do anything with my domains or name servers ?
2.) Do i have to setup a default domain and then tell my host to update the reverse as this "mail.mydomain.com"

3.) Does the reverse dns has anything to do with my hostname on the vm control panel ?

How do i choose the name for the rdns to be right and valid ?

Ps: i went to kloxo and in mail settings i set up a name like this "mail.mydomain.com" is this relevant with rDNS also ?

Sorry for all those questions but i am really lost here and i can't find any tutorial/Guide on rDNS thing if someone could help here i'll be really gratefull..

Thanks in advance...

yes they did and they told me its going to take 72 hours for the changes... but they passed a lot more... and still no rDNS... I already opened a ticket on their support to check it... By sit address u mean ? Please May i PM you my ip etc cause i don't think its a good idea to share this on public...

Thanks for your help Lock Down :)

Kloxo has many bugs, so much that the developer stopped developing it.
I would suggest switching to another control panel.

@Dope , i agree with you but there isn't any other free open source bug free cp for now so kloxo is the only solution unless someone can afford to pay extra for a cpanel... For me its not an option unfortunately... :(
