Reseller Hosting Recommendation for WebMaster

hi

please i just need help deciding which host to go with, either knowsrv or 5gbps or if anyone think anything else is best suited to me.

i am a web designer and been hosting with 2 hostgators and 1 uk server for almost 4 years now but now my stuff is getting uplifted and am thinking now vps as future plan required lot traffic.

now after chatting with few hosting plan here am very happy and don't know which to choose as i don't see any services review.

all my content and clients sites are legit so my worries is since most hosting seeming to allow warez and stuff here, won't that affect my server or reputation or SEO somehow? and if anything occurred like downtime and stuffs.

i am based in UK and also was wondering about good page load from server located in Holland?

this will be my 1st time and i can pick up things quickly so the learning curve i know i can handle that but i was reading about manage and unmanage vps too which add little more baffle to my already confused brain.

i mean i have clients with ecommerce and don't want them to lose their business over ddos,hack and such which might be due to me being newbies in linux.

and i also need cpanel/ftp/email for each domains(well not all need cpanel). so it looks like my question actually is about can you do resell or manage your own clients when you are using vps?

and finally which hosting do you recommend for me? or any advices from pro web designers/dev here please for a starter?

please be genuine and easy on me.

btw most of my webmasters friends here in uk use mostly heartinternet but i want to be a bit different and most of their sites i think are too slow.

hostgator was fine but i just want to merge all in one hostin. plz no dedicated server suggestion as i am not there yet for that, probably in a year or few month from now but not right now.

i need to get this sort out by monday latest.

Hi,

Make sure to ask for test IP first, then check the range against well known black lists out there. If there were several spam complaints from this IP range you may be in trouble and it will effect your outgoing emails.

If you need security, make sure to ask a provider if they can secure your VPS once ordered. No matter how security it is, you should always have *REMOTE* backups just to be on the safe side.
 
@kruno : thx you, would provide all this if i go with knownSRV and what about the spam issue you raised? i know its weird asking you if your service is safe but forgive me.

@Yashraj : thanks for your input, so if i deduct from it right, if its legit better not go offshore like in .nl and such?

It's also based in UK which means your clients will have good page load time.
Since you need hosting for legit stuff, you should consider this one ;)

Well, we have ZERO tolerance towards spamming of any kind. One strike and you are out given you did this on a purpose, hence all our IP ranges are clear. We care about that very much.

On another note, I see you are looking for a reseller which we do not offer, unfortunately. Only VPS + cPanel would be an option with us but please do contact us for a quote if you are interested. We will do our best to stay within your budget as long as it's reasonable.

Regarding offshore(outside of US shore), if does not matter what you host - your privacy and security is what matters, we take that *very* seriously.

cool, now i host most of my clients websites so thats what i mean by resell.

some are ecommerce(which might need ssl or not).

so that aint allow on your server?

and you said zero tolerance which is good but do you provide in that case backup before booting? i mean if the other party dont have backup?(i know always have backup but i just have to ask).

Yes its better to go for US or UK if legit.
UK is good for you since you are based from there and its likely most of your clients will be from there as well.
Offshore hosting hints at illegal content and you certainly don't want your legal content to be hosted with servers hosting illegal content as well since such hosting can give you "bad surprises".
On top of that, the provider I suggested is good and reputed too.
