Redirecting seo question

I have one small blog which is getting like 1-2k users daily. But i'm planning to stop that site and want to redirect those users to a different site. It's already a site which is online for 3 years now. Will this affect my 3 years old site if i redirect the other blog to it?

Without proper knowledge about the redirection will the website to lose the result. Google has an option in Webmaster Tool about changing the entire the website to new URL check that for more information about the redirection.

i would go for 301 redirect, so the linkjuice will pass and also it's a permanent redirect
