Don't forget, WBB was where 300 MB movies project started ... it was a big revolution to have 300 MB MKV and not anymore AVI 700/800 MB ...

You mean IRC for scene releases packed in multi parts like 1-5 MB each part?
I didn't have used IRC, but back then I remember mostly P2P softwares like Bearshare, eMULE etc ... I started around year 2008.
