Its supermicro with FW 1.0x something. The problem is when I use a linux workstation, virtual media wizard does not appear but on windows it does. So I have to find a windows vps to upload my iso image.
There are actually 2 different ways to use virtual media on the Supermicro IPMI. Since the way to access it varies by model, please contact your data center regarding the issue. I own a Supermicro server and I'm able to load virtual media from my Mac and Linux desktops just fine using the method that does not require a windows share and pass.
Another option is to install SMB services on your LInux desktop and create a Windows compatible share to copy the CD /DVD to as an ISO. I have run into problems w/ the windows share function not working properly and have had to use a Windows VPS once or twice as a work around.
Yeah I was researching about it and saw I had to update the firmware or something, but I only got an Operator account on it so I contacted my provider.
Thanks for the idea for SMB services, didn't know there was such a thing lol! Will try it out once my provider responds :D
