Q: some n00b questions about PayPal

Hello all.

PayPal seems to be one of the most popular payment instrument right now and alot of webmasters using it to get paid. I would like to enjoy it as well and there is something that I would like to know before I made any stupid mistake :P

1. Registering account - do I need to provide real details?
2. Should I link CC to the account in order to be able to use it?
3. How safe it is to use PayPal to receive money from file hosting companies?

Pardon me if those questions already been answered 10x times and if so - I will really appreciate a link to it :D

If you want a verified user, you must provide real details.

2. Should I link CC to the account in order to be able to use it?
You still can be able to use it to receive money even without CC.

3. How safe it is to use PayPal to receive money from file hosting companies?
This is I am not sure lol...

A: Yes, you must provide real details.

A: Yes, if you want to be able to withdraw the funds.

A: It's safe, you can count on it.

Q: Can I make a payment to another PayPal user if I haven't linked any card to my account?
A: No, You cannot

Well, this rule is only for Indian Users if i am right.

Other countries users can still send money without attaching Credit Card

Correct me if i am wrong 8-)
 
1. Registering account - do I need to provide real details?
- Depends on what you're going to do with the account. If you're a constant paypal and withdraw money or add punds often, you have to add real details. If you're not sure about adding your original details, make sure you have the "first name" right and add a "second name" close to your original second name. This helps when your old account is limited and you cannot open another account under same name.

Never try to add some address / phone no / Bank details on multiple accs. They don't check address often but if your acc is limited, you provide proof and make sure you can do it with the current provided address.

2. Should I link CC to the account in order to be able to use it?
-If you're an Indian, you have to add CC inorder to send money. You don't have to add CC if you just receive money but it wont hurt to verify your account using a VCC.

If you're from another Country, just buy a VCC, costs about 7$ and start sending / receiving money.

3. How safe it is to use PayPal to receive money from file hosting companies?
- It is perfectly safe. But don't payout too much on same week and don't keep paypal balance over 1000$ at any time.

If you're an Indian, you're limited to 500$ per transaction and withdraw it asap.

Yes, you are wrong... I'm from Indonesia and I cannot send payments or funds using an unverified PayPal account.
