openvpn to secure traffic

i want to know if i can install openvpn to secure my own vps traffic.

I understand openvpn server and client. But if i installed openvpn server on my vps, does it mean all my traffic is secured?

I want to secure my vps connections and traffics, is there any alternatives please? i prefer opensource than paid services.

You may need check security overview of OpenVPN . You can surely connect to VPN securely.
