Yes, sharing ppt presentations or pdf documents on slideshare.com is quite effective. Those presentations through slideshare rank really high in SEarch Engines therefore attract enough attention and get a lot of clicks. If you manage to make a really nice presentation you will also get a chance for it to be shared through social networks and get some viral effect.
