New domain registered but still not resolving — how long before you worry?

A new registry proposal from .nz made me think about this.

Some fresh .nz registrations could be kept out of DNS while the holder details are checked. If everything passes, the hold is supposed to be removed as soon as practical, but the draft doesn’t set a fixed maximum time.

If you were waiting to launch a site on that domain, how long would you give it before switching plans?

usually its live in a few hours, 24-48h max. after 72h id open a ticket. an open ended hold like that .nz draft would make me pick another tld for anything time sensitive
