need a help with unmanged vps

i get my unmanged vps and i dont know how to setup it , alot of tutorials is out of date alot of codes not work , please any one can help me
i want to host wordpress and xenforo ,
what panel i need ? and how to set up and optisme and security it ?

I suggest to use Zpanel Download | ZPanel It is easy to install and manage.

Another choice is Kloxo.
Installing Kloxo from SSH:

That could be a good choice but how much memory does your vps have?? If using centos 6.3 and at least 512Meg I suggest centmin at centminmod.com.

Okay 1st Question is Will you just run that one site?

if so you Have a VPS with Re installs almost instantly,
I'd suggest you play around with Apache / nginX installs
Just look for LAMP Tutorials.

The amount you'll learn over night is truly unbelievable. All just from playing around.

and if you really want a panel ISPConfig 3.
On a VPS its perfect (using nginx).
