Linux VS Windows hosting

What is the best option betwen those two?

Should I get Linux or Windows hosting for a basic site with some HTML & CSS code?

I really don't have any expiriense with Windows hosting so I need some information :P I have only used Linux (cPanel)

I would say before choosing linux or windows we must have a look on advantages and disadvantages of both I agree that Linux-based hosting is definately the most popular. It is usually less expensive than Windows, But, Linux Hosting have some disadvantages. the main disadvantages of Linux based hosting is that they are unable to accommodate some windows applications and the coding conversions. This is considered to be the major disadvantage of linux web hosting.
