It's not illegal to earn anywhere from uploading. Nobody cares if you make some money from it.
Your problem would be if they start asking questions on what you upload that gets you the money. But again, if you upload illegal stuff, it is not your responsibility if the content isnt being deleted by the filehost. If anybody is responsible, it's your filehost.

It is illegal, if they find the content on your hard disk, IF they want to raid your place. But that is highly unlikely. A raid operation and all the legal paperwork behind it, costs thousands of dollars to them, and unless you are a serious thread (which is highly unlikely) you should not worry about it.

If you own a site that makes a lot of money from VIP subscriptions, you will eventually get in trouble. Uploading is not a big deal. Warez helps the multinational companies spread/market/sell their products.
