I just read in another thread that there is a guide for mods for giving out infractions. Would it be possible for this to be made public on the forum?
I know from talking in the chatbox and also from some posts in the feedback section that some members feel that a) they're not clear on some of the rules and b) sometimes mods are very unfair, handing out severe infractions when it wasn't warranted. If the infraction system was more transparent I don't think there would be this problem. Members have to be held accountable for breaking the rules, but I think mods need to be held accountable if they abuse the power given to them by their status.
The other day I received a 3 point, 4 month long infraction. I've read that infractions usually last for 1-3 months, with more severe rule breaking getting longer. So my rule breaking must have been considered severe.
I did question my infraction by just reporting the message because I wanted to keep it private, but I didn't receive any reply, so for all I know the mod who gave me the infraction read it and deleted it. That's why I'm bringing it up here.
The reason for my infraction was "Mindless spamming". This was my offending post, which was quoted in the PM to me about the infraction:

At first I thought Lifetalk was actually admitting that he/she was the OP on another account, because of the way he/she worded their post. When I realised that's not what Lifetalk meant, I made a joke. In what way does this deserve a 3 point, 4 month long infraction? I'm not trying to cause shit, I'd just like an explanation. (I can't link you to my post because it was deleted)
Something else I don't understand: the OP of the thread that is quoted from started off his/her post by calling everyone uploading for money "gullable [sic] morons". I would have thought that this was more worthy of an infraction than mine, but instead, Lifetalk 'liked' the post.
So basically, I'm asking for an explanation for my infraction, along with asking for a bit of transparency on the guide that mods are supposed to follow when giving out infractions. This way, people will know where they stand, and hopefully there wouldn't be too many more posts like this of people wondering why they got such a severe infraction.
