google how to setup a dns server for your vps... or you can just setup apache virtualhosts and just point your domain to the vps ip..

That way each sub domain and domain will be pointed to the correct location of your server

Re-format the virtual-server

Then just simply install cPanel you will get a 15-30 day trial it will install everything for you. If you were going to run a site with out cPanel to begin with just let it expire and use ftp & mysqladmin in SSh to control everything.

If your domain is at namecheap use there dns service.

Click all hosts records, then add your VPS ip as a A record in the top two boxes.

put your files in /var/www/ or create a new entry in httpd.cnf and use another folder.
