How can I change the name of the site?

How can i change the name of site which is displayed in adress bar....it comes invision power board ... i have installed ipb 3.1.0 in it

Check on the Header of your templates u will see

<title> </title>

Invision Power Board will be inside that remove it and add it, if its not remove all stuff between those <title> tags and add your own.

Not used IPB but at a guess your favicon should reside in the forum root directory on your server and be favicon.ico backup this first and replace with one of your own and that should be it (I think).

Board NameThis is the name of the board. It is used as the first link in the navigation menu, etc.

For favicon i think best is to change the favicon.ico file to your own.

Exactly, you won't get to see the topic name = not good for SEO.

You can either replace favicon.ico from your root forum directory or you can go to your ipb skin templates and edit the directory/link to the favicon.

You won't find it there as it is dynamic from the system settings in the admin panel.

You have been told how to do it already by others.

As far as your seo are you using the ip.seo or the built in one that came with ip.board??
