Hi all,
I run Origrid, a large-file host. It's small and fairly new, and I'm here mostly to read: this forum has about fifteen years of institutional memory about how hosts fail, and I'd rather learn that from your threads than rediscover it with my own users.
Since it's the first thing people reasonably ask: we don't run a PPD or rev-share programme, and I'm not planning one. I know that makes us uninteresting to a good part of this forum, and that's a fair reaction — I'd rather say it up front than have someone find out three posts in.
What I can contribute is the operator side: storage and egress costs at small scale, what the ad networks actually pay on non-tier-1 download traffic, and the specific ways I've broken my own site so far. I'll open an official thread once I'm out of probation, but I'd like to be a known name before I do, not a new account with a pitch.
Thanks for having me.
