Hard Disk Status is Null and Loss Data

Hello,

I have a 5 Year old 160GB Hard Disk, I use this hard disk as a IDE to USB converter but now my hard disk status is show Null :'(

I have a huge important data on this HD and also by mistake I was click on Repair Hard Disk then Fromat..

I already format my Hard Disk, How can I recover my old files?


Please help me, I have a memorable images on this hard disk


Update: Last time I was use a Recovery Software(can't remember) which show a option to rebuild Hard Disk for repairing

here is solution try CHKDSK option

chckdsk x: /f

where x is your drive letter it will solve your problem

you can always use a recover files app and use the search function to find the exact file type you need...

txt and images are the least to be deleted... they always remain intact until 5-6 formats are done

try some data recovery software like "get data back" or "recover my files"

and dont right anything on your hdd and in some cases you can recover data from a formatted disk .you just need the right software.

in the future try it in command prompt (DOS) not by right click=>properties=>tools and chkdsk

STOP following what people above are telling you to do.Take your HDD to the nearest repair/PC shop and give it to them.They use PHYSICAL equipment to recover data.IDK how,but it worked for me.it cost about $35. I had formatted the drive by mistake while reinstalling OS

Scene where do you live and what was the shop? Most mall pc shops do not have the equipment and the ones that do normally charge $200 and up with no garuantee for recovery.

i live in india.what i meant was to give it back to the pc shop where i purchased the pc initially from.they sent it their 'guys' at the backend.i`m not referring to the average shop.mine was a retail chain.$200 was the higher figure.they told me if the data was not recovered,they would not charge me. they also had $50 etc plans.but it usually works.
