First of all, google's DNS IPs are CRAZILY short.
This has to tie in with what class IP sector they have.
Class A - 0.0.0.0 to 126.255.255.254
Class B - 128.1.0.0 to 191.255.255.254
Class C - 192.0.1.1 to 223.255.255.254
Class D - 224.0.0.0 to 239.255.255.255 (reserved for multicast groups)
Class E - 240.0.0.0 to 254.255.255.254 (reserved for research/future use)
The whole 127.x.x.x are reserved for loopbacks.
With a class A IP...they give you the first number Example: 13. Any numbers after that, you are allowed to assign to your network and use it online with the right tools. So, if I had warez-bb, katz, wjunction, and google on the same network and owned the 13.x.x.x range. I could make google 13.55.13.64. Then I could make Warez-BB something like 13.0.0.0. I could make Katz 13.37.0.0 and I could make WJunction 13.255.255.255 if I wanted to.
With a class B IP...you are given the first 2 numbers. So like "148.91.x.x". You are able to assign the last 2.
With a class C IP...you are given the first 3 numbers. So like 220.143.6.x. You are able to assign only the last number on the network.
ISPs have a few class A IPs as well as other IP types. A lot of datacenters have a B and C if they assign their own IPs because the ISP gives them the IP and they have it there. Hosts also have class A but that's because their ISP assigns the IP address...or they bought out the whole range.
Apparently, Google has it's own class A IP set..maybe more than one.
