You are not supposed to see any folders or files using FTP.

You upload and everything disappears some time later.

I can't even see recent files. So its not like that.

Actually I wanted to mass rename files which can be done using a software if I was able to see files in FTP. Please help.

Because you upload to front ends.
Files gets moved to the storage servers when the upload has finished.

The front ends does not have a direct link to your account/files/folder structure.

Can not see the remote files on the _FTP_ server?

That is because those files are uploaded via the remote servers which you do not have access to.

But than it takes minutes to rename a single file. I need to rename about 5000 files. Any other way?

But you can sit down and wait for the new file manager.

I have a suggestion, when remote uploading at fileserve, please show the percentage of file that has been uploaded..
Filesonic/Duckload has something that tells you that, I'd like something similar for fileserver.thanky you very much.

The only things I currently wish FS would work on are (in order of "wanting"):

1) Some sort of checksum (MD5, SHA, etc.) that would prevent accidental or unnecessary uploading if a file is already on the servers.

2) Faster uploads via FTP - I get ~500KB/s when uploading to FileServe but FileSonic averages 2.7-2.9MB/s.

3) Faster (and/or more reliable) remote upload. I've been going from FileSonic to FileServe via remote because it's faster than FTPing to FileServe.
