ronthai,

I was ok with FileMates until yesterday - Saturday.

That's when, unbeknowst to me, the "experiment" began - the result being that my sales tanked dramatically during that 24 hour period.

So, to answer your question - I'm undecided.

Any decision I do make, will hinge on what transpires during the next 48 hours.

Hope this helps,

Ansley

@ronthai
Your poll is pointless, do some research and figure out which host is best for your particular situation. I could care less if you join or not, it's not like I'm going to get a share of your earnings if you do.

Personally, all my links are premium only so whether or not the download manager stays or goes has no effect on me. And my sales have been great ever since I went premium only 3 months ago.

@user7331

Guess that means it is now:

YES = 1
NO = Probably 1

Can I have a link to your blog/forum/website to check how LEGAL your files are?
If you do not give us that, well you are making money of other people work.
Not worry that is what 99% of filesharing is about.

u realy should stop doing that people the only thing stoping mates from applying the download maneger is a very bad deal with the company that handles it so please let it go adn wait for his say

@ronthai if u don't mind your free users having to download a toolbar software before downlaoding then yes filemates is one of the best if not the best PPS host and admin there is

PS: it seems i can't prevent people from buying i make thread on blog saying i might leave no one buy or renew and sales keep increasing today :) so bad u had to come up with such idea :)

Monday: One more day of tests with the "download manager"

Guys to be clear... As cypherz said correctly the only reason the download manager will not be applied is a bad deal... If we earn with this i will put it, you like it or not...

If you want free users this is not what i want... if you want premium users then this is the case... and if you want premiums without forcing them to download the manager do what user7331 does... premOnly your files to be available only to premiums... this way the download manager will not appear as option as they will see a simple message that the file is available only to premiums...

Sorry but free users for filemates is just a cost... this is not an organization. this is business mates... ;)

and as cypherz said this is one of the best PPS programs... not because we give 60%... there are others that promise 80-90 or 10000000% BUT they never give it...

I want ONE here to say that he didn't get paid... NEVER... even a bit later, everybody gets paid and conversion rate is high...

So whoever wants to leave, he leaves... whoever wants to stay, stays... Clear and Fair enough!

mate, can you make an alternative because my downloaders are not complaining about the download manager, but most of the anti virus detected it as trojan/virus. any changes will be good and beneficial for downloaders and uploaders.

Mixed feelings about this... completely agree that free downloaders only use valuable resources, and they should be 'pushed' a bit to buy premium. Also agree that free users should generate some money too.

But I feel that some advertisement program would be better as installing software on their systems, especially as it seems that many anti virus programs report it as a virus/trojan. (btw, I tried it on my linux system, it's just not working :p ) Pissing of people by installing (possible) virus infected software on their PC doesn't look like the perfect sales argument to me ;-(

I'm not a big fan of fiberupload, but it looks to me that they found a nice mix between advertisement/functionality. Think you should have a look at it.

But if you decide to go on with it, please note clearly on the site that premium users don't have to solve captcha's, now it looks like everyone has to do ...

And for the guy with the statistics, no, I will not run away if it's implemented. If my users are unhappy with it, that's their problem. If sales drop, that's FM's problem, but in that case he will probably stop the program. If it works, everyone will be happy as FM promised us some time ago a PPD program for these downloads. If I want real big money, I will have to work for it, this is just a hobby ;-)

If i show you my conversations with the ad company you will see that this is the first condition i put... no viruses... I know this pay per install programs that many times have malware...

My frase on 15:55 on 14/8/12:
"yes... i think yes... i will download as well the exe when it is online... if i detect a single virus i will clean the link from my site"

and 15:57
"yes... you can start... but have the warning in mind... no spyware, virus, or other firmware not desired installed... only install what the client desires"

on 16:00 they replied:
"we are not apyware or virus or any other..."

They told me that they have advanced system against viruses. Maybe few malware will happen but this should not be the case.

Personally i make tests and i haven't detected viruses.

If something like this happens i will stop the program as i warned them.

In any case, i agree completely with Kinepolis.

In some way free users must be pushed to buy. If it is not the download manager there will be somethign else... But certainly there will be something ;)

well if a miracle happens and u don't work with software thing i have many ideas to profit from free downs traffic and to make mote insensitive to buy hope so but something tells me u are going with it anyway waiting to see the end result

Γεια σου Mates,

So far today - Monday, your time - my sales are down, again. I've gotten only 1 (one) . And that should not be the case - as today is a major holiday here in the US - Labor Day.

Just wanted to let you know. :-)
