I just hatez0r posters who post in a public domain and expect no one to respond, bash or berate them for their opinion in a public domain
Please, if it doesn't matter to you, then why do we have to know? You're not adding anything to the discussion. So he's right, if it doesn't matter to you, you shouldn't mess with the people who think it matters.

One thing I noticed they (the filehosts) build up a good reputation at the initial stages, host awesome promos and advertising gimmicks to lure in unsuspecting uploaders, then pull in premium sales until sales start to slack off because they've already saturated the market.

Once that happens, somehow that company's performance just suddenly gets all screwed and while all hell's breaking loose, a new filehost suddenly emerges (from the same company, although they won't admit it even if the similarities are glaring and right in your face).

Too bad for those who bought long term accounts from the earlier filehost because that filehost now sucks lemon flavored donkeys big time.

But since they (the premium account buyers) need a way to download files easily, they get suckered again into buying premium accounts from the newly created filehost with the awesome promos and advertising gimmicks. Hey! It's just like the first paragraph!

And the cruel cycle goes full circle once more...

P.S. Do they allow one person to have more than just one account here at WJ? I always thought they didn't...

And I hate ppl who don't know how to read, trolls, and those who think that uploading warez is a job, while they claim to others the same shit

Same here if you are referring to my post I said "Some of you all ACT like uploading is a real job" hence posts like this. I dont care because I do this shit for fun and make a little cash on side. I have a real job and if I had to walk away tomrrow I wouldnt miss one minute of it

It's not that they won't confess to you, as their affiliate, uploader. They know you will earn more with that scheme. And long term accounts are rarity, they actually start earning AFTER 1 month accounts, on renewals.
It's the cream that money creates, it's never enough. Once you are surrounded with piles of cash, you want more piles. And, why not repeating something that wins? Only ppl who know nothing abt business, think that one filehost is enough. Multiplying profitable thing, is, what gets you real money.

I'm not against the fact that they're making money. I'm just against the WAY that they make money. It's like ethics and good business practices have flown out of the window and they feel like they don't want anyone else to have money except them.

Oh, the affiliates will now react to that. I'm also an uploader so I don't deny that I make money from them too. But to justify their bad business practices by saying "they pay us, so wtf?" just isn't right. They pay the affiliates because without the affiliates (or the affiliate programs) they wouldn't be making anything close to a fraction of what they're making now, and affiliates make real cheap labor too.

They have the affiliates doing all the hard work, so they could just sit on their butts and wait for the money to come rolling in.

And I don't know if a lot of people have noticed, FileJungle pays only the uploader who sold a premium account from his/her link, and without rebills too. Their plan looks really awesome until you read the fine print. I think we're heading off topic here...

Anyway, what the 3 amigos (Fileserve, Uploadstation and FileJungle) are planning to do is get the uploaders who aren't aware of what they're up to onboard their newest money train, luring them again with bloated payout figures.

If only the first two amigos weren't notorious for shaving points, maybe the third amigo would look a bit more credible. GIven your "piles of cash" theory and the two precedents, I don't think they had a sudden change of heart to not do the same with the third...

It's hard to teach an old dog new tricks, y'know... :)

And that's the reason why you SHOULD care...

There is no ethic, in filehost business. It's: take as much as you can, in shortest amount of time.

There is only ethic of money. Files, uploaders and downloaders are expendable, and replaceable merchandise.

Basically, cyberlockers are legal scam. A hole in a law, which is used and abused, to make money. If you aren't aware of that, since RS and MU time, then, you, my friend, you are quite naive. :)

Nothing to like or dislike, it's the way how it always was. Everyone have it's own way to do that. For example, you are judging FS and rest of those filehosts, while you never mentioned, that 'best' filehosts don't pay anything (MU,RS,MF). Now, that is greediness.
But, that's business. Greed makes money, not ethic. Every big business is rooted by greed.

Btw, only individuals will react, probably barking in topic, while keeping uploading. There is no Uploaders Syndicate, that regulates rules, or organized crowd of unpaid (shaved) affiliates, who will unite and 'show these greedy punks' who is the boss. Open your eyes, 99.999% of people upload illegal stuff, on their servers, still you are getting payed for that, even though it is illegal, and you aren't getting banned, or reported to authorities.
So, where is your stand on complainings? How CAN you complain, when you are breaking law, their TOS, and what not?
I agree, that your vision on things is much better than mine, but mine is more closer to truth :)
Mutual benefit. They give you something you need, you give them something they need. However, they are the bosses, not you, as individual.

There's only 2 options you can do:
1. Continue uploading and earning with them.
2. Not continue uploading, and not earning with them.

You always have a choice.
And you def need to think, where you are, in this 'game', and what you are doing.
You can be all emo about this. but that is not what is required for this task :)

i think it's quite ironic that we are talking about ethics when the issue involves uploading ILLEGAL content. if you want to make black market money, expect to get screwed. Same goes for downloaders, they want free content so if the filehost decide to screw them over, tough luck and just move on to another host. Just like you buy something cheap from china, you can expect the items to have defects

Preach!!!!! I dont know why there is all this bitching and moaning about "practice" when most if not all of the content uploaded is illegal in some form. The moral business police whining how they get paid for stolen content. The nerve of some of you

When it is all said and done it boils down to what I have been saying for months/years... it is because of you greedy uploader cash whores that file hosts like Fileserve, Filesonic, Filejungle etc etc exists and make millions of pounds/dollars/etc. The scene has and will always be about one thing and one thing only...

Sharing for the sake of sharing.

It is because people want to make money that all these hosters come about and now everybody complains that they are the same company etc etc. The hosters are there to make money plain and simple and if they can con you to make money they will.

I upload to FS and WU but not to make money, I use them because they are popular so people can get the files I upload but I also always upload to Rapidshare and Megaupload who are the two leading hosts for free users.

If you don't want these pay hosts to succeed and have a huge amount of success then stop bloody using them! and eventually they will all disappear.

JGM.

Completely off-topic... :/
If there is no money involved, no one would use any filehost, and they wouldn't exist in the first place.

Torrents were always free. And lately, faster than any filehost.

I say sue them! :D:D:D

C'mon, most of you have double accounts, ref yourself, and you are nagging about this? Really?
Yeah, you are uploading to FS and FJ, and you earn from both filehosts, how can they do this to you?!?!?! They need to be severly punished!!!! :D

I don't think it's nagging, it's just revealing stuff, pure curiosity.
Some (most) of us already knew this from the very start, some of us aren't that stupid, and know how things work, there was no need for this topic, however, I find it interesting to read, that they never did anything to hide that...

Rapidshare and Megaupload are there for the same reasons as Fileserve, Filesonic and the other 'cashwhore' (LOL) filehosts.

The only difference between the first and the latter group is, that the latter group returns some of the money to the people supporting them. Which isn't a bad thing as it enables people (young and old) in the third world to make some money on the side.

Furthermore, those preferring torrents (or newsgroups) to filehosts have nothing to do with the issue of uploading.

Those 'cashwhore' opponents remind me of the hippies of the 70s. We know all what came from their visions.

The world and the cyberspace is a living thing, it changes continuously. Get out of your cave and open your mind.
