Here's the posting in its entirety:
Official statement regarding Rewards payments
Firstly, apologies for the delay in making payments. Unfortunately payments cannot be made this week.
PayPal has imposed a reserve on our account, which is well in excess of our monthly revenue. Until we reach the reserve we cannot send or withdraw money. While there has been no official explanation for this we presume it is related to the shutdown of Megaupload and Filesonic, and the impact this has had on their customers who have paid for accounts via PayPal which are now worthless. Obviously they do not want a repeat of this situation, so they would want a certain amount of funds held in accounts in order to be able to meet demand for refunds or chargebacks should this happen to anyone else.
We will honor all Rewards payments, however we will not be able to make payments until 1 March 2012. This is because after our reserve has been met, funds are required to pay our hosting charges. No hosting payments = no more FileFactory.
Regarding Moneybookers and Amazon payments, we have simply not had time to make payments this week as we are working flat out to restore service, however we will make these payments gradually throughout the course of the week.
If you have already requested a PayPal payment, you cannot cancel the request and choose another payment method. The reason for this is because we have not written the functionality to do this. However if you wish to 'swap' your earnings for a FileFactory Premium membership, simply email
support@filefactory.com with your account details and we can do this for you.
In addition, we have revamped our Rewards payment rates, while maintaining the 20% commission rate on all sales. Users who use FileFactory exclusively should not see earnings too adversely affected.
We have also changed the payout terms to monthly - payments will be made at the beginning of each month. This is so we have time to check the validity of accounts and to make sure that affiliates are meeting our terms and conditions.
As you have seen, many other sites have come, and now gone. FileFactory has been around since 2005 and we are here to stay.
Thanks for your patience and understanding. Our priority at the moment is to improve service for all users. Any negative or abusive posts in reply to this will not be appreciated
