Hello guys,

Just one newbie question...
I have one dedicated server and I want to buy a new one, but only for backups.
Do I need a cpanel in that new server only to receive backups?

Thanks!

@Divvy

if you dont know how to do that Just Contact SP.
or Use google.

Its easy also you can automate it, means bacup will be create automatically in 24 hours or XX hours , XX days etc.

Hi buddy,

Thank you for your reply!
I decided with the 2x Intel Xeon E5-2420 :-)

Btw, whats the better OS? CentOS 5 or 6?
64 bits recommended right?

You took 2x Intel Xeon E5-2420 for bacup
and CentOS 6 64Bit is fine.

Bacup server need much space than Cpu, or RAM

No lol, E5-2420 is my main server

For backup server:
AMD Athlon 64 3000+
512MB DDR2
1x160GB SATA2

Have low RAM but I think is enough right?

Yah as i said for bacup servers Storage is needed.
because if you will do bacup daily then it will be hard to manage in 160GB.

Note sure about size of your Bcaup. if its 3-4GB daily then its ok :)

Budget hmmm the less possible... Im looking for something cheaper. Im already paying lots with main server, dont want to pay much more. Lets say hmm 20, 25?

I think week backups is enough

you do not need cpanel at all. If you do not want to make ftp account in ssh you can install some free panel for it and inside it create ftp account.
