Well if you're serious about it, it's best to have all 3: .com, .net, .org, otherwise I would say .com.

theoretically speaking it should be a .org bocause its a community site. but as steeler said, people tend to forget and use a .com domain, I'd say register both the .com and .org and redirect the .com to the .org domain

If it's a forum, I'd say .org - But .com is usually a lot easier for people to remember, as most starters first try that one.

well i use.org and i like it, thats why i use .org otherwise .net .com are nice too what matters for me is how the domain sounds with the extension :D it just a matter of choice..
